crushing on these....

These 5" beauties bring a whole new meaning to "crazy cat lady". The S/S 2010 Miu Miu collection is filled with these playful prints. I think I'm so in love. So far, I've only come across the clog version at Holt's.
The "Sparrow" print, already completely sold out on net-a-porter.com... and already mass-replicated? The Nasty Gal's take:

That was fast...

Featured on Ladylike.com!

Big thanks to Lady Patricia over at Lady Like for featuring my recent DIY headbands!

Check it out HERE :)

Here's the step-by-step for a rainy day:

Step 1: Measure the elastic around your head while leaving at least half a centimetre or so extra once you cut it, so that the head band isn't cutting circulation off anywhere...

Step 2: Sew both ends of the elastic securely and trim off any unfinished threads.  (Excuse the chipped nail polish)

Step 3: Take the zipper and remove the mini staple (if any). Un-zip it approximately 3/4's of the way down, and fold the opposite ends as pictured.

Step 4: Once you have sewn the ends of the zipper down, sew the zipper piece onto the elastic wherever you please. I would suggest to sew the heart piece directly above where you sewed the elastic ends together to end up with a flawless, cheap&chic, headband.

In case you didn't notice....

I've revamped my blog (slightly)! I wasn't hugely impressed nor satisfied with 'Recessionista' (it was already taken anyway, when I first signed up). So there it is. Hopefully it's here to stay...

avant-garden

dress: Wilfred, stud bracelet: thrift, shoes: Doc Martens

Although you can't quite see them, this cute mini shift dress is equipped with shoulder emphasis (my fav!). It also comes in acid wash blue and black.

Also, I desperately want a new camera...

"Fashion Is Freedom" fashion show at UBC

silk top & leather leggings: Aritzia, bag: Balenciaga

Yes, the runway was on the water! Pretty impressive. The tent added to the overall Bryant Park feel (as if Vancouver could compare). The show featured 2 local designers (Nicole Bridger and Drew William) and ended with a feature show by UBC's International Relations Student Association. I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of the opening portion which aimed to show "UBC style"... I think that says it all. Hands down, Drew William was my favourite.
